High Fidelity

We had the opportunity to watch most of this movie in class during the past 2 weeks. It was rather interesting and there were definitely some funny parts. The story line was pretty weird. John Cusack, the main character, always seems to play weird roles. In this movie he goes back through his life and tries to connect with his old relationships. He struggles to get over his ex-girlfriend by meeting other women and getting his mind off of things.

The record store that the whole movie revolves around is awesome. There are always complaining customers to add some comic relief to the depressed and stressed mood. Overall I thought this movie was interesting. I wouldnt say it has made it to my top choice list but I did enjoy watching it.

SUPERPOWER POST

Today is the 4th of April. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping as my alarm beeps obnoxiously to wake me up. I open my eyes and cough and something very weird happens. Waking up in my dormroom, I realize now I am laying on my bedroom floor. The problem being that my bedroom is about 9 hours away in Maryland. I teleported!

My superpower would be to have the ability to teleport from place to place. I recently saw the movie Jumper and my ultimate power went from being invincible to being able to teleport.  I would use this power to be able to visit everyone I want to and still make it to class in the morning. I would get breakfast in Italy in the morning and swim in the keys after class! Possibilities are endless.

The first person I would tell would be the first person I saw, obviously! So since I woke up in my room at home, my mother or stepdad would be the first to know.

My Favorite Song

I am a huge fan of music so for me to pick one song that I would say is my favorite is extremely hard. I like alot of Bob Marley's music, along with Dave Matthew's Band and O.A.R. I would have to say that my favorite song is Wonderful by Everclear.

No matter how many times I hear this song it never seems to get old. The beat is slow and mellow. The vocals are deep and thoughtful. The lyrics are awesome too because this song is almost a reflection of the writer's childhood. Alot of this song relates to me, which may be the reason why I like it so much. I had a very good childhood, except for the divorce of my parents when I was about 10. This event impacted my childhood, and even though I agree things are better now, I was a crushed little boy walking around the streets of Maryland.

"Wonderful" by Everclear has alot of meaning to me. The song itself is catchy and awesome aswell. With its popular tune and deep meaning, I would say this song is mu current favorite!

Recommendation Blog

So for this particular post I wanted to try to recommend something that most people would be new to. Something that I think most people have not done or experienced before. I would like to recommend to everyone the act of skydiving.
In the last 10 years, extreme sports have become extremely popular and the activity of most adolescent youth. I'm not sure if people are becoming more adventurous or if people are just getting bored with your typical team sports, but regardless the act of skydiving is slowly gaining popularity. Skydiving is an amazing experience that allows you to free fall from the sky. This at first sounds very scary but let me walk you through the steps you take while participating in this activity.
Starting by signing your life away on a waiver, you continue to watch an educational and instructional video about all aspects of skydiving. Any inexperienced skydiver must dive "tangent", which means that a professional diver would be attached to you. This "tangent" style allows you to not have to worry about any tasks while skydiving, such as pulling the parachute or guiding your parachute to the landing zone. After completing the preliminary course, your board your airplane and climb to about 13,000 feet above the ground. The door opens and you and your professional skydiver shimmy over to the edge. You receive a tap on your shoulder and you go flying out into the sky. The views are amazing and the experience is indescribable. The feeling of being completely weightless is the greatest rush I have ever experienced.
I would definitely recommend that within everyones lifetime you would try skydiving and see the world in which you live from a whole new angle!

Movie Review

For this movie review I thought it would be best for me to review the movie I have most recently watched. In this case that movie would be Borat. For anybody who does not know, Borat is a movie about a middle aged news reporter from Kazahkistan who travels to America to gather information and learn about the American culture. Of course this movie is a comedy and should not be taken seriously.
Borat does many interesting things throughout his stay in America. His original plan was to stay in New York City, but Borat's lovestruck infatuation for Pamela Anderson provided him with more than enough reason to travel cross country to California. This journey took the opposite cultured Borat and his assistant through many situations, such as busy metro rides, gay rights parades, bed and breakfast stays, womens activists meetings, driving lessons, rodeo show speaker, and many other things as well. Overall I found Borat to be very entertaining and interesting. It brings to the viewers attention how America may be viewed by thousands of outsiders. So I complete my review like any professional would; 4 stars!

The Beach

To me there is nothing better in the world than laying on a sandy beach during late afternoon when the air is warm with a cool breeze and you can not hear anything but the waves crashing and splashing onto the shores. I love the beach and just about everything about it. For a few short periods in my life I have lived by the beach and when I became stressed or irritated about anything, I would always just drive down the "strip" and watch the ocean. The ocean to me is very peaceful and calming and I love that stress free feeling you get when your there. No one is in a rush, no one is doing homework or business stuff, everyone is just relaxed and there for the same reason you are!

Out of all the beaches that I have been to in the United States, id have to say my favorites are Florida! This may seem pretty obvious because, as a peninsula, Florida has a lot of beaches. My dad lives in Florida so therefor I go down there quite a bit. I just like how the beaches in Ft. Lauderdale are lively and entertaining and than 20 miles north in either Deerfield or Boca Raton, the beaches could be calm and tranquil. I love beaches in all their entirety!
